Semester Playlist

Each semester includes a dedicated playlist that supports our curriculum.
Listening at home reinforces what your child experiences in class, helps them feel confident “Hey, I know that song!”, and deepens their connection
to the music by sharing it with the people they love.

About This

The Jewish Center

131 W 86th St, NY, NY

11th Floor

(And 4 pm Thursday on the 10th floor!)

The class has AC units and windows that we can crack open as needed.

entrance instructIONS

To the left of the main entrance on 86th st, there is an automatic door and ramp for strollers.

This is the easiest way to get in. Please leave strollers in the lobby unless you have 2 children that are not able to walk yet, in which case you may bring your stroller to the 11th floor.

Once on the 11th floor go in the door straight across from the Elevators and you will fund us!

meet your baNdleader

CJ has been teaching Ramblin’ Dan classes since 2019 and is in high demand across NYC.

With thousands of early childhood music classes taught, his engaging style, strong musicianship, and quick humor help create a fun, welcoming experience for kids and parents alike.

A true “musician’s musician,” CJ also performs regularly at New York clubs, weddings, and piano bars—bringing that same energy to our little members of the Freewheelin’ Band.

What to BrinG?

If you have a young infant, feel free to bring a thin blanket for rolling or tummy time (and to protect the floor from a little spit-up too)!

We provide instruments for all the kids and clean them after every class, so there’s no need to bring other toys unless you prefer not to use our shakers, bells, and drums.

But do grab a few instruments for home! Making music at home lets your child explore and build on everything they experience in class, and keeps the fun going between sessions :)

"Classroom"
Etiquette

Please stay home if you or your child are feeling sick

-Shoes off in classroom
-No food or Coffee/staining drinks

-Bottles, nursing, water are always fine though!
-Please limit
cell phone use, texting, recording to 5 minutes

-While class is a social space, please keep conversations quiet so the children can hear the music.

-Outside toys are not permitted unless your child needs a comfort item (“lovie”) or you’d like to bring your own small instruments like shakers or bells (though we do provide instruments for every child)

-Although we love that some kids want to bring their own guitar, larger toys like that can be distracting to others so its best they are left at home.
